The process begins with artists, record promoters and record companies submitting music entries throughout the past year; this includes live concerts, gigs, music venues and music publications. The Bright Star Awards Team, then screen for eligibility and category placement. A process of weekly music chart placements, Social Media engagement, radio listener feedback including the creativity and technical processes of a recording or live concerts and gigs including entertainment value is determined. The Bright Star Awards Team voting members then participate in (1) the nominating process that determines the typically five finalists in each category; and (2) the final voting process which determines The Bright Star Awards winners.
The eligibility and consideration period for Bright Star Awards is from 1st November to 31st October each year. This allows for the Bright Star Awards Team to process all the data and entries in time for consideration, the nomination process and public vote typically from 1st December each year. For example for Bright Star Awards 2020, the year will run from 1st November 2019 to 31st October 2020.
